Making a difference in Whanganui

Volunteer with us

SPCA's Whanganui Centre covers a large area including Whanganui City, Bulls, Marton, Hunterville and the Ruapehu region.

Our purpose-built facilities include social cat rooms with outdoor enclosures, housing our many vulnerable cats that have needed our assistance and are now looking for new homes. We also have dogs and puppies available for adoption and a variety of other animals throughout the year.

Our team includes three staff and over 30 valued volunteers and fosterers. Our local supporters group organise community events throughout the year, including our Op Shop Fashion Parade, Centre Open Day and Annual Appeal.

For enquiries about your monthly donations and other donation enquiries, please call our fundraising team on 09 256 7311 or email fundraising@spca.nz.

In-kind donations

If you would like to donate goods, animal foods and pet equipment can be dropped off to our centre during opening hours, and donations for our op shop can be dropped off at the shop during opening hours.
