Taupo Centre
Making a difference in Taupo
Volunteer with usUnder Alert Level 1 our centre is open, however, enquiries about adoptions, fostering and volunteering are by appointment. We ask anyone who would like to come to a centre to contact us first and make an appointment. You can do so by calling our centre on the number provided above. If you are dropping off donations we would love to see you during our opening hours at any time.
SPCA's Taupo Centre at Centennial Drive was opened in 2010 and takes care of animals in need throughout the Taupo district 365 days a year. Our staff work hard to ensure animals are given a second chance at the life they deserve, in forever homes.
We offer education on responsible pet ownership, animal care and preventing animal cruelty within the community.
We also run the Snip & Chip cat desexing campaign in our community, sell items such as Purina pet food; cat and kitten adoption packs; and toys, leads and collars at our Front of House store.
The centre has an opshop in the Taupo township which is run almost entirely by wonderful volunteers. Alongside public donations, the Opshop generates vital funds to finance our centre’s day to day running.
