Wildlife Contraception and Non-surgical Sterilisation

Animals in the Wild

SPCA advocates for research and funding to develop viable contraception options for wildlife as an alternative to lethal control for targeted species.

Contraception options can help minimise the need for mustering species such as wild horses, goats, or geese. Contraception provides an alternative method to lethal population control and can help minimise use of methods such as poisons or kill traps that also pose welfare risks to non-target animals.
