SPCA moves banking relationship to Westpac NZ

SPCA will become a Trust from 1 July 2026, and will be moving its banking to Westpac from this date.

The banking transition will ensure that SPCA’s banking services needs can continue to be met.

“SPCA regularly reviews our partnerships to ensure we continue to support our mission,” says Kate Anstiss, Projects Manager for SPCA. “Moving to Westpac aligns with our shift to a Trust, and will ensure our banking services meet our future needs.”

By establishing a banking relationship with Westpac, the charity expects their banking capabilities and flexibilities to strengthen and expand.

“We’ll be better able to support our nationwide operations, and our key fundraising events like our annual street appeal,” Ms Anstiss says.

For the large majority of SPCA’s regular donors, no action will be required.

“It is only our Direct Credit regular donors and some others who we will be reaching out to over the next few weeks, as they’ll need to update the banking details on their end,” says Ms Anstiss.

“The majority of our regular donors won’t be impacted. Our current bank accounts will also remain active and open in the short term, while we transition everything across to Westpac.”

Westpac NZ Managing Director of Institutional and Business Banking, Reuben Tucker, says the bank is delighted to be the SPCA’s new banking partner.

“Our organisations share values, we support their mission, and we look forward to providing great service to them and their supporters so they can continue their invaluable work,” he says.
