Volunteer positions
Op Shop volunteer - Waikato Truck Helpers
Hamilton Centre
We’re looking for reliable volunteers to help with routine pick-ups and drop-offs of donations using our truck. No driving experience is required—helping with lifting and moving furniture is the main task. While it’s helpful if you can drive, it’s not a priority.
Duties will include:
- Help with lifting heavy furniture
- Assisting with pick-ups/deliveries as needed across Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Morrinsville, and Central Hamilton areas
- Comply with all health and safety requirements
Hours
We’re looking for volunteers who can be on call between Tuesday and Saturday, stepping in for pick-ups and deliveries when needed. There is no set or permanent day each week, but flexibility and availability across these days is important.
Requirements
- Reasonably physically fit as the work involves lifting (loading/unloading).
- Be able to work both independently and cooperatively within a team environment.
- Good customer service and spoken English skills.
- Optional, not necessary: If you wish to help with driving, a full clean driving license as a safe and courteous driver, and the ability to drive a truck
Note: The truck is organised from Te Awamutu, but stays overnight in Hamilton.
