Membership

Membership of the Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Incorporated (SPCA) is by application, however the SPCA Board will be embarking on consultation with its membership base, as advised at the AGM on 5 December 2023, on a recommendation to transition to a Charitable Trust, which would (if so resolved) mean an end to the current Incorporated Society structure, and dissolution of the membership base.

This recommendation is due to a change in requirements for Incorporated Societies as documented in The Incorporated Societies Act 2022 (2022 Act).

With this transition pending, we feel it would be disingenuous to accept applications for new members at this time.

However you are welcome to send in an application for membership here which we would keep on file in the event that the transition to a charitable trust structure does not eventuate, and we can then reach back out to you to ask if you are still interested in joining.
