Making a difference in the Coromandel

Volunteer with us

SPCA's Thames Centre has been helping animals in the local community for 50 plus years. We have a fabulous facility in Thames and our area covers the Coromandel Peninsula and Hauraki Plains.

We look after 200-300 animals per year and are well supported by a dedicated volunteer network who care for the animals at the centre and also foster animals when needed.

If you have an animal emergency outside of these hours, please contact your nearest after-hours vet clinic. For any problems with stray, found or lost dogs, please contact the local council. Please contact the local police for any instances where an animal or person/s welfare is at immediate risk.
