Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your family? From 13 April - 3 May, we are reducing our adoption fees by half to make it easier than ever to find your perfect companion.
11 Hau Hau Road, Hokitika 7882
PO Box 15349, New Lynn, Auckland 0640 (National Support Office). This Centre does not have a physical letterbox on site.
SPCA's Hokitika Centre works with the Westland community to improve the lives of all animals in the region.
In February 2019 we were able to open a brand new, purpose-built Centre, thanks to the support of our wonderful community. Now, in 2025, we're reopening our doors.
We also have a thriving op shop on the main street of Hokitika to support the work we do.
All cruelty reports should be made by phone: 03 755 8265
If you have an animal welfare complaint, please call our team on 03 344 2078. Our team will be on call during our centre opening hours – please see above. If you have an animal emergency outside of these hours, please contact your nearest after-hours vet clinic.
For any problems with stray, found or lost dogs, please contact the local council.
Please contact the local police for any instances where an animal or person/s welfare is at immediate risk.
If you are unable to take the animal to a vet, our team is able to respond to emergencies between 8:30 - 4pm, Monday - Saturday.
Do not email or Facebook us to report emergencies.
