Making a difference in Auckland

Volunteer with us

SPCA's Centre in Hobsonville is the newest centre in the country. We look forward to welcoming you to our state-of-the-art facilities.

We are located in the fast-growing area of Hobsonville, in the North West of Auckland. Our centre accommodates a small number of staff who work collaboratively to provide the best outcome for our animals.

This includes:

  • Feline, canine, and small animal adoption areas.
  • A base for our warranted animal welfare Inspectors who cover a 7,980 sq. kms area across the Auckland region.
  • Foster and volunteer offices

Our Hobsonville centre works closely with the biggest and busiest SPCA centre located in Mangere, South Auckland. Together, we help thousands of animals each year who have been abused or neglected.

We are extremely lucky to have volunteers who devote their free time to helping the Hobsonville centre create the best life possible for the animals who need us; this ranges from cleaning out cat cages, feeding animals, or taking SPCA dogs for their daily exercise.

Please note our Hobsonville Centre is unable to accept sick or injured incoming animals from members of the public. If you have found a sick or injured animal, contact us immediately on 09 256 7300 for help and advice.

Due to limited space and resources, unfortunately SPCA does not usually accept owned animals into our care.

As a charity, we do not have sufficient space and resources to provide a rehoming service for owned animals, and have to prioritise sick, stray or injured animals.
