SPCA advocates for children’s involvement in activities that help develop an understanding of and empathy for all animals. SPCA opposes animal hunts and trapping, and use of dead animals in contests, taking place in association with schools or communities and with the involvement of children.

SPCA supports the use of appropriate companion animals in human assistance programmes provided they are trained using reward-based methods and assessed as suitable for participation in the programme and that their physical, health, and behavioural needs are met for the whole of their life.
