Animal Care Assistant – Cats

We are looking for volunteers to help with the daily work of caring for our cats and kittens. This is quite strenuous work and often involves a lot of cleaning.

Duties

  • Cleaning animal areas, litter trays and bowls
  • Feeding animals per feeding directions
  • Refiling litter trays
  • Identifying animals displaying signs of illness
  • Follow Health and Safety requirements

Available times

  • Morning shifts: Monday – Sunday 9am – 12pm

  • Afternoon shifts weekdays: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 2.30pm – 4.30pm

  • Afternoon shifts weekends: Saturday & Sunday 2pm – 4.30pm


Qualifications and Education Requirements

No formal qualification required but you will need to be at least 17 years of age. Previous animal experience desirable.

Preferred skills

Successful candidate must be able to follow instructions and all Health and Safety requirements. They should be enthusiastic, hardworking, be able to work well in a team and have a genuine love of animals. We need volunteers that are prepared to commit to the minimum requirement of one shift per week for 6 months, and can understand written and spoken English.
