Volunteer positions

Help us improve the lives of dogs in our care.

Volunteers must be confident and capable of handling dogs who come in all shapes and sizes. Some of these dogs come to us with little or no training. Work in our canine area includes cleaning the dog pens and the dog exercise yard, walking, feeding, providing toys, attention, socialising and training.

• Minimum age: 18 years.
• Personal time commitment: one shift once a week or fortnight for a minimum of 6 months.
• Training: you will receiving training while on-the-job during your shift.
• Experience: to work with in the canine area previous experience with dogs is preferred.
• Tasks: feeding, socialising, walking, cleaning, dishes, laundry, helping with odd jobs if time allows etc.

Shift times are as follows:

Monday – Sunday (8:15am – 10:45am / 12pm – 2pm / 2:30pm – 4:30pm) *the finishing times may vary
