Do you have a specialist skill and want to use your talents to help animals? We’re looking for volunteers who can use their expertise to make a difference for SPCA - whether that’s through photography, videography or other specialist areas.

Our valued volunteers are a vital part of our team. SPCA could not function without volunteers who donate their time freely, in many valuable roles. As an SPCA Volunteer you are part of our volunteer family/whanau, which includes Animal Centre Volunteers, Op Shop Volunteers and Foster Parents.
As a Skilled Volunteer, you share your expertise to support animals and our teams. Your contribution helps tell our animals’ stories and keeps our operations running smoothly. We are hugely grateful for your support in creating better lives for New Zealand’s animals!

What you'll be doing
- Photography- Capturing high quality imaes of animal for adoption, profiles, campaigns and events.
- Videography- producing vodeos for social media, foster recruitment, volunteer promotion, or for educational resources.
- Other skills such as graphic design, writing, plumbing, IT, carpentry, or other areas that can support SPCA operations.
The skills you need
- Relevant experience or training in their chosen field (professional or advanced hobbyist level).
- Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently or alongside staff.
- Confident communicating and collaborating with others.
- Good understanding of written and spoken English.
- Must be aged 16 years or older.
- A genuine passion for helping animals and supporting SPCA’s mission.
