Administration Volunteer
Nelson Centre
Are you a friendly, approachable person who’s comfortable talking to people and working with computers and administrative systems? Your contribution ensures our centre runs smoothly and every visitor and animal receives the attention they deserve.
What You Could Help With:
- Administrative support - preparing documents, scanning, answering and redirecting phone calls. greeting visitors, assisting with adoptions, and helping complete paperwork
- Adoption and foster assistance - greeting visitors, assisting with adoptions, and helping complete paperwork, helping with animal handovers, organising equipment, and supporting the Customer Service Team.
You may choose to focus on one area or assist across several depending on your interests and availability.
What We Are Looking For:
- Friendly, reliable, and organised volunteers.
- Comfortable with technology
- Comfortable following instructions and completing tasks accurately.
- Good comprehension of written and spoken English.
- Must be aged 16 years or older.
- Preferably able to commit for at least 6 months.

For: Administration Volunteer at Nelson Centre
Thanks for your interest in volunteering with SPCA. Volunteers are a huge part of our team - we couldn’t do what we do without you!
To get started, just fill out the form below. If you need help, please call the team at your local SPCA Centre or op shop.
A few things to note:
- You must be at least 15 to volunteer in our Op Shops or 16 to volunteer at our Centres. If you are younger, please check out our sections on 'Volunteering for Kids', 'Volunteering from Home' or talk to your family about fostering opportunities.
- You may need to provide an up to date Ministry of Justice check during this process, and we'll ask about any medical conditions so we can ensure your safety while volunteering.
- Information collected as part of this application process may also be used for placement screening, administration, health, safety and wellbeing purposes, to communicate with you about your role, and to promote SPCA goods and services that may interest you. Information collected by SPCA will be treated in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and the SPCA Privacy Statement.
