Animal Care Volunteer

Do you love animals and want to make a real difference? Join us as an Animal Care Volunteer and help with the daily care and wellbeing of animals at our centre.

What You Could Help With:

  • Dogs & Puppies - feeding, cleaning kennels and runs, walking and providing enrichment and socialisation.
  • Cats & Kittens - feeding, cleaning enclosures, assisting with socialisation and enrichment.
  • Small Animals (e.g. rabbits, guinea pigs) - feeding, cleaning hutches, and spending time socialising with them.
  • Other Animals - supporting the care of birds, reptiles, and other species.

You may choose to focus on one area or assist across several, depending on your interests and availability.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Reliable, self-motivated, and hands-on volunteers.
  • Able to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physically able to handle cleaning, lifting, or animal handling.
  • Confidence around your chosen species. You’ll need to remain calm, patient, and comfortable working closely with animals of different sizes, behaviours, and temperaments.
  • Previous animal care experience is a plus, though training and support is provided.
  • Good English comprehension.
  • Must be at least 16 years old, or at least 18 years old to work with canines.
  • Preferably able to commit for at least 6 months.
