Making a difference in SouthlandVolunteer with us
SPCA's Invercargill Centre has large grounds and a purpose-built facility, which was built in 2014 and designed to provide optimal care for animals.
Our team of highly qualified vet nurses and animal attendants are here to ensure all animals receive the best of care, even without having a veterinarian on-site. We are very fortunate to be well supported by a team of around 70 volunteers, who we are most thankful for their commitment and service. Together, these volunteers and our animal attendants care for around 1,000 animals each year.
Our three Op-Shops are conveniently located in the heart of town on Tay Street and Spey Street as well as in the Glengarry Shopping centre to accommodate customers from the outskirts of Invercargill. Stop in for a visit to meet our lovely team of staff and volunteers!
All cruelty reports should be made by phone: 03 218 9684
If you have an animal welfare complaint about companion animals, please call our team on 03 218 9684. Our team will be on call during our centre opening hours – please see above. If you have an animal emergency outside of these hours, please contact your nearest after-hours vet clinic.
For any problems with stray, found or lost dogs, please contact the local council. Please contact the local police for any instances where an animal or person/s welfare is at immediate risk.
Do not email or Facebook us to report emergencies.
