Hastings Centre
Making a difference in Hastings
Volunteer with usUnder New Zealand’s Orange traffic light system, our Centres are open to the public, however appointments must be made for adoption enquiries, foster appointments and volunteering interest. Please note that members of the public do not require a vaccine pass for entry to an SPCA Centre.
If you are interested in adopting, fostering or volunteering, please contact us via the website or by phoning us to make an appointment, our team will be able to discuss next steps. In line with Government regulations, physical distancing and face coverings measures are still required and must be adhered to when entering our workplaces. If you have a face mask exemption, please bring it with you.
SPCA's Hastings Centre sits on a greenbelt just south of Hastings Central. The centre was purpose-built and is situated on the junction of Maraekakaho Road and Heathcote Roads. The Centre presents itself from the Heathcote Road entrance. An extensive building, the Hastings Centre has a reasonably large capacity compared to other regional centres with approx. 1,200 animals coming into our care each year.
Over one hectare of land completes the site which allows for expansive lawn areas, small paddocking for exercise areas and is also handy for our larger guests as we do have the odd goat and sheep in for ‘stay overs’.
Modern dog areas include quarantine and adoption units in separate buildings.
