Making a difference in the WaikatoVolunteer with us
SPCA's Hamilton Centre (formerly Waikato SPCA) reopened early 2017 under new national management. It has slowly been extending its services over the past 18 months with plans to increase further.
We are in our new facility in Te Rapa, owned by the very supportive Waikato Animal Welfare Foundation.
We are open 6 days a week for adoptions and run a 6-day-a-week ambulance day service for sick and injured strays.
We now have three inspectorate covering the area from below Te Kawhata down to Tirau across to Te Arhoa, Raglan, and the Te Kuiti area.
Due to limited space and resources, unfortunately SPCA does not usually accept owned animals into our care.
As a charity, we do not have sufficient space and resources to provide a rehoming service for owned animals, and have to prioritise sick, stray or injured animals.
