Gisborne Centre
Under Alert Level 2, our centre is open by appointment only for those picking up an adopted animal or dropping off/picking up a foster animal. Please call our centre to make an appointment on the number below. Strict physical distancing and health and safety measures will be enforced, including contact tracing. Members of the public cannot visit centres to view animals. We will maintain carrying out our adoptions using contactless methods through online enquiries.

Volunteer with usUnder Alert Level 1 our centre can reopen, however, entry will be by appointment only. We ask anyone who would like to come to a centre to enquire about adopting, fostering, or volunteering to contact us first and make an appointment. You can make an appointment by calling our centre on the number provided below. If you are dropping off donations we would love to see you during our opening hours at any time.
Formed in 1957, the Gisborne SPCA Centre covers a large area of the East Coast, stretching from Wairoa in the south to Hicks Bay in the north.

If you have an animal welfare complaint, please call our team on 06 867 9463. Our team will be on call 9am-9pm, Monday – Friday (excluding public holidays) and 10am-2.30pm Saturday. If you have an animal emergency outside of these hours, please contact your nearest after-hours vet clinic. For any problems with stray, found or lost dogs, please contact the local council. Please contact the local police for any instances where an animal or person/s welfare is at immediate risk.
