Ashburton Centre
Making a difference in Ashburton
Volunteer with usFrom 31 October, SPCA will be closing our Ashburton Centre.
While the physical Centre will no longer operate, SPCA services will continue in the community through a dedicated Community Support Officer and our ongoing partnership with Vetlife, ensuring sick, injured, and vulnerable animals continue to receive care.
This change allows SPCA to use donated funds in the most effective way, helping more animals in need across Ashburton and the wider region.
For urgent animal welfare concerns, please contact our Inspectorate at 03 307 1019.
Our centre covers from the Rakaia River to the Rangitata, with Inspectorate cover coming from Christchurch.

Thank you for looking to desex your pet.
Making desexing accessible to everyone is important to us. Scientific research has proven that a desexed animal lives a happier and healthier life. They are less likely to get into fights, can be more affectionate and friendly, and have a reduced risk of health issues such as cancer. We believe desexing and microchipping is one of the key ways to improve animal welfare.
We run Snip ‘n’ Chip campaigns for cats across the country at different times of the year. To check if vouchers are available in your area visit https://book.spcadesexing.nz/
For more information on desexing, please visit www.spcadesexing.nz or email snipnchip@spca.nz
Alternatively, please contact your local SPCA Centre for local assistance and advice.
