Falconry for entertainment, sport, and work

SPCA opposes the hunting of animals by humans with birds of prey for entertainment, sport, and work.

Where birds of prey participate in falconry, SPCA advocates that the birds are provided with a Good Life where they experience positive welfare and their physical, health, or behavioural needs are met. Our organisation opposes keeping, training, flying, or displaying birds of prey which cause suffering to the animal or where the birds’ physical, health or behavioural needs are not met.

SPCA supports the use of low-stress handling methods and use of force-free methods to train birds in falconry.
