Animals in the Wild

SPCA is concerned with the welfare of wild animals, both native and introduced. SPCA seeks to protect wild animals from human actions that cause their welfare to be compromised, and advocates that all human interactions with animals must cause minimal pain or distress.

SPCA opposes inflicting avoidable pain and distress upon wild animals. Where the capture or killing of wild animals is permitted, this must be strictly limited under licence and must only be performed using methods that minimise negative impacts on animal welfare.

Wild animals, in this context, refers to animals that are not domesticated.
