Fever Hospital After Dark

Friday 30 October
SPCA Wellington Centre

Waikato woman prosecuted after her dog was found emaciated

Did you hear that strange creak? Did that rattle leave your hair standing on end? If you’re ready to go beyond the normal and hear or see something mysterious, come and join us for a ghost investigation at our SPCA Wellington Centre!

The building of our SPCA Wellington Centre has a long and unique 100-year-history, starting life in 1920 as a hospital for infectious diseases. It’s also recognised as one of the most haunted buildings in Wellington! Given the number of patients that the hospital has cared for – both animal and human - it wouldn’t be surprising to consider that some may have taken up residence in the building in their afterlife.

This heritage week, we’re giving you the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes of our Wellington Centre and embark on a paranormal adventure. Come hear from SPCA General Manager Central Region Ros Alsford, as she shares how SPCA came to reside in the building, and she’ll make your eyes widen as she tells of her own supernatural experiences that have taken place onsite.

Then get ready to go investigate some ghostly guests by participating in your own ghost investigation after dark with psychic medium, Kathy McBride. So what are you waiting for, come experience the supernatural and help support the SPCA while you’re doing it!

Adults only. Ticket includes a drink and snacks on arrival along with a booklet celebrating 100 Years of the Fever Hospital, and can be purchased at Eventfinda.
