If you do set up a fundraising page, please do email us at events@spca.nz to let us know, and we can ensure we have your correct details and be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

1. Sponsored silence

Who can stay quiet for the longest in your class? Can anyone manage a whole day without talking?

Set up an online fundraising page and ask your family and friends to sponsor you, they’re bound to be generous in return for some peace and quiet.

2. Animal mufti day

Mufti days are a fun and easy way of raising money for New Zealand’s animals. Why not make them even more fun by adding an ‘animal’ theme to the day? Think animal-onesies, cat t-shirts and face-paints!

Return your money to SPCA online or offline or set up an online fundraising page now!

3. Spelling bee

Compete in teams or as individuals. Make it into a competition or just play for fun – either way it’s educational.

Set up an online fundraising page and ask family and friends to donate per word – the more words you get right, the more money you will raise for the animals.

4. Pupils vs. Teachers

One of the most fun ways to raise money at school is to organise an event where the students get to go head-to-head with the teachers. You might not believe it, but teachers will enjoy this just as much as the students do. Get creative and make your own competition or choose from:

  • Tug of war
  • Bake off
  • Spelling bee
  • Talent competition

Get started by setting up an online fundraising page to share with your friends and family today.

5. Bake sale

Thinking of running a bake sale in August? Why not run a Cupcake Day event at your school?

6. Fashion show

Run a charity fashion show at your school and charge guests to come along and watch. Get started now!

Raise even more money for SPCA by running a raffle or by ensuring that all of the outfits on display are bought from one of our many op shops.

7. Sports day

Does your school hold an annual sports day?

Turn it into a fundraising event by asking participants to set up online fundraising pages and get sponsored for their participation.

Arrange for prizes to be awarded to the top fundraisers as well as to the event winners.

8. School fete

Turn your school fete into a fundraising event and you could raise significant amounts of money for New Zealand’s animals.

Ask for a percentage of profit from each stall to come to SPCA and host a charity raffle and auction to raise even more money.

9. Scavenger hunt

Like a mini Amazing Race, host a scavenger hunt at your school and bring out the competitive spirit of your classmates as they team up to take on the challenge.

Ask participants for a donation and award various prizes throughout the competition. Get started now!

10.Talent competition

Has your school got talent? Look hard enough and you might just find the X-Factor!

Charge an entrance fee to come and watch the competition and the audience can ultimately decide the winner. Raise even more money by adding a raffle or auction to the event.
