We are excited to announce that we are launching a new desexing campaign for cat and dog owners in Kaitaia.

Making desexing services accessible to everyone is important to us and from 27 December 2023 we are working with TopVets, Far North Vets, Phoenix Animal Wellness and Donna Doolittle's Animal Rescue to offer this FREE service to cat and dog owners in Kaitaia who need a helping hand with the cost of desexing and microchipping.

Together we can make a difference in the lives of hundreds of cats and dogs in the Kaitaia area.

Bookings are now OPEN.

Donna Doolittle's Animal Rescue is organising the bookings for this campaign.
Please email desex@ddar.org.nz for more information and to book your spot.  If you know someone who is not able to access the internet, or needs help with booking their animal in, you can register on their behalf.

Please note there is a limit of 250 cat vouchers and 250 dog vouchers for this campaign and are only available until vouchers sell out.  Booking dates are dependent on each vet clinic's own capacity.

Low-cost cat desexing at Massey University (Palmerston North) is available to cat owners who hold a Community Services Card, Gold Card, or Massey Student ID.

The Desexing Clinic is entirely run by Massey staff and students who volunteer to provide these valuable services to the community. All procedures are performed in the surgical training facilities at the Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital under the supervision of a teaching veterinarian registered with the Veterinary Council of New Zealand.

The Massey-SPCA Desexing Clinic offers cat neutering (males) for $15 and cat spaying (females) for $25. All cats desexed through the programme will also receive free microchipping and NZCAR registration.

Dates are usually released 3 months in advanced, with further appoinments announced on the Clinic Facebook page (facebook.com/MasseySPCADesexingClinic).

The Desexing Clinic opened in July 2017 and provides desexing and microchipping services to those owners who need a hand with the costs of desexing their cat, while also giving veterinary students more hands-on clinical experience.

Desexing remains one of our top priorities at SPCA and we are excited to be launching a new Mobile Desexing campaign for cat and dog owners in Porirua and the Hutt Valley.

For a limited time, pet owners in these areas will be able to desex and microchip their cats and dogs at our Mobile Desexing Clinic.

Porirua: 7 - 31 May 2024 *Male cat appointments only*
Hutt Valley: 4 - 21 June 2024 *FULLY BOOKED*

Bookings are now OPEN!  Spaces are limited, so click "Book Now" to secure your spot.  We welcome a koha or donation for this service, but funding the service is something SPCA is proud to be able to offer.

We can also provide vaccinations and flea and worm treatments for animals that are being desexed at the clinic.

We are excited to be launching a new Snip ‘n’ Chip campaign for cat owners in Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, Gore, Balclutha, Alexandra, Wanaka, and other surrounding areas.

From 10 April 2024 we are working with local participating veterinary clinics to offer this service to cat owners who need a helping hand with desexing and microchipping.  Vouchers help those in need get their cat desexed and microchipped for $30.
