Waihi Snip 'n Chip
Waihi Snip 'n' Chip
We are excited to announce our desexing campaign Snip ‘n’ Chip is back, this time in Waihi!
From Monday 5 July, we are working with Waihi Vet Services to offer heavily discounted desexing and microchipping for community cardholders in Waihi. For a limited time, cat owners with a Community Services Card can Snip ‘n’ Chip their cat for $10.
Help us give your pet a better life. Drop into Waihi Vet Services - based at 40 Kenny St - to secure your Snip ‘n’ Chip booking! You will need to bring your Community Services Card, as well as a valid form of photo ID. At the time of booking, you will be advised of the next available desex appointment date to book your cat in, and the Waihi Vet Services team will be able to answer any questions you may have about the procedure.
SPCA has worked hard in recent years to address the problem of too many cats being born unwanted and not living a good quality of life.
Our desexing campaign in Waihi aims to reach out to those who cannot afford the desexing operation or may not normally consider having their cat desexed to use this opportunity. It also provides the opportunity for cat owners who do not currently have a local vet to get to know one.
Cat owners have responded extremely well to our other campaigns across New Zealand.
Scientific research has proven that a desexed animal lives a happier and healthier life. They are less likely to get into fights, can be more affectionate and friendly and have a reduced risk of health problems such as cancer.
We believe desexing and microchipping is one of the key ways to improve animal welfare in New Zealand and would like to thank JB and the team at Waihi Vets for their help with this campaign - they've made a huge difference for animal welfare in Waihi.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For this campaign, there is a limit of two cats per household. The Community Services Cardholder also must be the cat owner.
