About our Education Visits
Through education, we are able to deliver practical information about animal care and well-being, share knowledge and experiences and, promote compassion and empathy through positive interaction with animals.
Education provides the opportunity to be truly ‘a voice for the animals’. Our aim is to improve the lives of all living creatures by promoting proper animal welfare and preventing animal cruelty in our communities.
We can arrange both centre tours and educational talks for groups interested in learning more. Visits typically last about 45 minutes to an hour and can cover a diverse range of topics, including:
- the history of SPCA.
- animal needs.
- animal welfare.
- pet overpopulation.
- building trust with people and animals.
- clicker training and more.
In many cases, our visits fit into school curriculum. Special presentations can be designed for groups with more specific needs.
We often bring specially selected SPCA animals along to meet people and reinforce the work we do and the special nature of the lives we help.
