Opotiki Snip'n'Chip Desexing
About Snip 'n' Chip
UPDATE: Our Opotiki Snip 'n' Chip campaign is fully booked! The response to our campaign has been overwhelming! We were completely booked in a matter of days, and we're sorry to disappoint anyone who missed out on making an appointment.
Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word, and to our generous supporters and our local vet clinic, Veterinary Health Centre Opotiki Clinic, for making this possible.
If you have booked your procedure in (even if it’s still a few weeks away) – don’t fret, you’re all good to go.
Thank you everyone for your amazing support and patience. We really appreciate it!
We are excited to announce the launch of our first desexing campaign in Opotiki called Snip ‘n’ Chip.
We are offering free desexing and microchipping to residents living under three Opotiki postcodes from 20-31 May 2019.
Free desexing will be available to residents living under the following postcodes: 3122, 3197, and 3198.
SPCA has worked hard in recent years to address the problem of too many cats being born unwanted and not living a good quality of life.
Our desexing campaign in Opotiki aims to reach out to those who cannot afford the desexing operation or may not normally consider having their cat desexed to use this opportunity.
It also provides the opportunity for cat owners who do not currently have a local vet to get to know one.
Cat owners have responded extremely well to our other free campaigns across New Zealand.
Scientific research has proven that a desexed animal lives a happier and healthier life. They are less likely to get into fights, can be more affectionate and friendly and have a reduced risk of health problems such as cancer.
We believe desexing is one of the key ways to improve animal welfare in New Zealand, and would like to thank the participating vets in advance for their help with campaign.
Free Snip ‘n’ Chips are limited, so cat owners should call SPCA today on (07) 315 8692 to book early and avoid disappointment.
Other Snip 'n' Chip initiatives
Our free March cat desexing and microchipping event in Auckland has finished and we are very happy to say that this has been our most successful campaign to date with 1,500 cats booked in to be desexed or chipped!
We have had a huge response over the past few weeks, and we're sorry to disappoint anyone who missed out on making an appointment. We will be running more desexing programmes later in the year – watch this space for details.
Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word, and to our generous supporters and local vet clinics for making this possible; CareVets Beach Road, CareVets Mt Wellington, CareVets Pokeno, CareVets Takanini, Great South Vets, Lynfield Vets, Mangere Vet Clinic, Pet Doctors Manurewa, Town & Country Vets, Vetcare Glen Innes, Vetcare Richmond Road, Vetcare Takanini, and Western Veterinary Clinic.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of the thousands of unwanted cats born each year in Auckland.
Our Ashburton Centre’s Snip 'n' Chip campaign is now over and all Ashburton Snip ’n’ Chip vouchers have sold out. We would like to give massive recognition to the generous and supportive local residents and to the vet clinics who helped us during this campaign including Vetlife Ashburton, VetEnt Ashburton, and Canterbury Vets.
If you have purchased a voucher that you haven’t yet used, please get in touch with one of the participating veterinary clinics without delay.
However, if your local vet has already booked your procedure in (even if it’s still a few weeks away) – don’t fret, you’re all good to go.
Thank you for taking part in this campaign. It is thanks to your uptake, and your great participating local vets that we have all played a part to:
Reduce the number of unwanted litters - happier pets all round!
Help all lost pets find their way home - happier owners all round!
