Kawerau Snip 'n' Chip
We are excited to announce our desexing campaign Snip ‘n’ Chip is back, this time in Kawerau!
From 2 December 2019, we are working with The Lotteries Ministers Discretionary Fund to offer heavily subsidised desexing and microchipping in Kawerau for Community Services Card holders.
For a limited time cat-owners who have a Community Services Card can Snip ‘n’ Chip their female cats or kittens for $20, or their male cats or kittens for just $15.
SPCA has worked hard in recent years to address the problem of too many cats being born unwanted and not living a good quality of life.
Our desexing campaign in Kawerau aims to reach out to those who cannot afford the desexing operation or may not normally consider having their cat desexed to use this opportunity.
It also provides the opportunity for cat owners who do not currently have a local vet to get to know one.
Cat owners have responded extremely well to our other Snip ‘n’ Chip campaigns across New Zealand.
Scientific research has proven that a desexed animal lives a happier and healthier life. They are less likely to get into fights, can be more affectionate and friendly and have a reduced risk of health problems such as cancer.
We believe desexing and microchipping is one of the key ways to improve animal welfare in New Zealand and would like to thank The Lotteries Ministers Discretionary Fund in advance for their help with this campaign.
Bookings are limited, so cat owners should visit our SPCA Kawerau Centre today at 23 Spencer Avenue, Kawerau, with their Community Services Card to secure their spot and avoid disappointment.
