Volunteer driver
We are looking for a reliable volunteer driver to help with animal transport and routine pick up of food, newspapers etc. This role could potentially involve emergency pick-up of injured animals in the future when the person has gained experience/ been trained.
Duties
- Transporting animals to/from the vet
- Running errands and doing pick-ups/deliveries as needed
- Comply with all health and safety requirements
- Driving mainly a Mazda van and sometimes a Ford 4x4 Ranger
- Drive a manual vehicle
Hours
This position could be shared between multiple people so if you are only available some of the time that is fine.
There is flexibility with hours and generally only one transport of animals to another SPCA Centre per week.
Requirements
Full clean driving license, good written and spoken English skills, reasonably physically fit as the work involves some lifting (loading/unloading). Be able to work independently and cooperatively within a team environment.
The applicant should be a safe and courteous driver with reasonable knowledge of the Lower North Island area.
