Feline volunteer

We are looking for reliable people to help us care for cats in the care of SPCA Invercargill. This role requires a good level of confidence in handling cats of all ages and sizes.

You will be required to help with the cleaning of the cat cages and rooms. The work we ask our feline volunteers to do requires a low to medium physical ability and bending to clean lower cages.

Minimum age: 16 years.

Personal time commitment: one shift once a week or fortnight for a minimum of 6 months.

Training: you will receiving training while on-the-job during your shift.

Experience: to work with in the feline area previous experience with cats is ideal but not needed.

Tasks: feeding, socialising, grooming, cleaning, dishes, laundry, helping with odd jobs if time allows etc.

Shift times are as follows:

  • AM shift: 9am-10:45am (Mon-Sun)
  • PM shift: 2:30-4:30pm
    • Please note finishing times may vary
