Canine volunteer
Invercargill Centre
We are looking for reliable people to help us care for our dogs during week days. This role requires a good level of fitness and confidence in handling dogs of all sizes and breeds.
You will be required to help with the cleaning of the dog kennels/yards and to walk the dogs once the cleaning is done. The work we ask our canine volunteers to do is quite strenuous and you must be willing to walk our dogs in all weathers, rain or shine.
You must be able to commit to at least one regular two-hour shift per week for a period of at least three months.
Our shifts are:
- Weekdays 10am - 12noon, or 2:30 - 4:30pm
- Weekends 10am - 12noon, or 2:30 - 4:30pm
You must be confident at handling dogs, hardworking and reliable. We need volunteers that are prepared to commit to the minimum requirement of 6 months and can understand written and spoken English.

Please note: All of our centres and op shops have minimum age requirements for volunteer jobs. If you are under 16 years of age, please enquire directly with your local centre about volunteer opportunities. You may be need to provide an up-to-date Ministry of Justice check prior to starting.
