Feline and Small Animals Volunteer
Christchurch Centre
We are looking for volunteers to help with the daily work of caring for our cats and small animals. Volunteers must be aged 16 or over to work in this area.
MORNING SHIFTS AVAILABLE 8:30am - 12pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, alternate Saturdays and alternate Sundays.
Role is working with our felines and small animals - largely cats and rabbits but also some ducks, chickens and other small animals.
What will be involved:
- Cleaning cages, hutches, aviaries
- Feeding animals
- General cleaning of the areas including laundry, mopping, litter trays and dishes
- Providing enrichment and socialisation for our animals
As a volunteer, you are expected to be reliable and hardworking. We need volunteers that are 16 years and older, who are prepared to commit to the minimum requirement of six months, and can understand written and spoken English
Training: you will be required to attend training sessions for your specific area, in addition to receiving training while on-the-job during your shift.
Please note that an onsite induction and hands-on training will be provided once you have submitted your application form, prior to being accepted to our programme.
