Community Engagement - Animal Therapy Volunteer
Animal therapy volunteers take specially selected SPCA animals to members of the community who would benefit from the companionship of our animals and volunteers.
Help us help our community
Animal therapy volunteers utilise their own well maintained vehicles to make regular visits to retirement homes, hospitals, hospice and disabled people.
We are looking for safety conscious, outgoing people who enjoy interacting with both people and animals.
- Minimum age: 18 years.
- Personal time commitment: at least once a fortnight for a minimum of 6 months.
- Training: you will be required to attend training sessions for your specific area, in addition to receiving training while on-the-job.
- Transport: you must have a valid driver's licence and your own well maintained, currently registered and warranted reliable transport.
- Police check: required for this position.
