Making a difference on the Kapiti CoastVolunteer with us
Under Alert Level 2 our Centre is only open by appointment. We ask anyone who would like to come to the Centre with enquiries about adoptions, fostering and volunteering, to contact us first and make an appointment. You can do so by visiting the relevant page on our website or by calling our Centre on the number provided above. Physical distancing, mask-wearing, and contact tracing measures will be in place.
The Waikanae Centre is the base of operations for SPCA in the wider Kapiti District. Found on Main Road in Waikanae, the Animal Centre is now even easier to get to with the opening of the new expressway.
All cruelty reports should be made by phone: 04 293 4292
If you have an animal welfare complaint, please call our team on 04 293 4292. Our team will be on call during our centre opening hours – please see above. If you have an animal emergency outside of these hours, please contact your nearest after-hours vet clinic. For any problems with stray, found or lost dogs, please contact the local council. Please contact the local police for any instances where an animal or person/s welfare is at immediate risk.
Do not email or Facebook us to report emergencies.
