Making a difference in South Taranaki

Volunteer with us

Under Alert Level 1 our centre can reopen, however, entry will be by appointment only. We ask anyone who would like to come to a centre to enquire about adopting, fostering, or volunteering to contact us first and make an appointment. You can make an appointment by calling our centre on the number provided below. If you are dropping off donations we would love to see you during our opening hours at any time.

From June 2019 SPCA’s Hawera Centre will no longer be open for adoptions.

For animal welfare concerns in the area, please contact 06 758 2053

For adoptions, please consider adopting an animal in need from one of our neighbouring SPCA Centres.

If you need urgent assistance for an injured animal currently in your possession, please call us on 06 758 2053.

Animals in our Hawera Centre are cared for by one full-time staff member and a small team of great volunteers. Warranted Animal Welfare Inspectors are based at the nearby New Plymouth Centre.
