Happy adoption stories
Many of our adopters, volunteers, donors and friends send us stories and photos of the animals who give them so much joy. We dedicate this space to all of you whose lives have been changed by animals.
5 years ago my old Burmese cat Jynx had to be laid to rest 2 days before his 18th birthday. I wasn't going to get another cat for a while, until about a month afterwards, a mouse ran across my lounge floor. Cat needed! I browsed the SPCA website and Minty's picture jumped out at me and I rang. Yes, she was still available. Five years later and she still has her problems; she's very nervous of everything: feet with shoes on them, raised hands trying to touch her head... Seems she had been badly treated somewhere along the line. She doesn't like sitting on my lap but she loves sleeping by my feet on my bed. She asks to have her coat brushed by sitting by the front door, and when I open it, she steps out, flops on the ground and rolls onto her back, meowing, "come and brush me, Mum!" I love my Minty.
