So long as animals are in need, SPCA will always be here to help them through rescue, rehabilitation and recovery - but we can't do it without you.
Without donations from the public, we would be unable to provide the lifesaving care they need. From covering surgeries and medication to offering a comfy bed and safe space to rest their weary head, none of this is possible without your generosity. The animals in our own lives fill our cups, all the way to the top. Now it's time to return the favour - help us fill the bucket for them today!
For over 150 years, SPCA has existed to protect vulnerable animals in New Zealand. SPCA has an important role to play in the local community, and our work would not be possible without your support.
With 28 Centres nationwide, our teams take in, care for, and rehome animals who are suffering. Beyond our Centres, we work with communities to enhance animal welfare, encourage responsible pet ownership, and assist those who may be struggling, especially with desexing initiatives to stem the growth of unwanted animal populations. We also advocate for change in areas where animal welfare is not being upheld in our society, raising our voice for those without one, and encouraging collective action.
We are the only charity granted legal powers to uphold and enforce the Animal Welfare Act, which sees our 54 Inspectors investigating reports of animal cruelty, rescuing animals where necessary and in some cases prosecuting those responsible through the courts.
Today, SPCA requires approximately $66 million a year to continue our vital work - but we receive just 10% Government funding, which is earmarked for our Inspectors’ work. It is only with the help of animal lovers like yourself that SPCA can raise the remaining 90% of our necessary funding.
This is what Fill the Bucket is about. A donation today is what makes all of this lifechanging work for animals possible.
